I was watching some of your old videos i noticed that ye were using marshalls
Justin was using a Marshall Jcm 2000 dsl 100 I think and beau was using a marshall tsl100. in your opinion beau and justin which of the two marshalls did ye think was better? or did ye plug pods into them? also what cabs were used with them?

Those were rentals for when they played in other countries. It is a lot cheaper just to rent amps instead of shipping one overseas. Marshalls are usually the best distributed amps in other countries (and probably the best rental option), so that is always why they had marshalls. When they did rent the amps they would just run the PODS directly to the power amp and bypass the preamp.
Back before they had triamps beau had a modded TSL (which belongs to someone on the boards now... I believe greg has it). It was hardly a TSL any more because a lot of things were modded (transformer, sockets, tube types, etc.).
Anyways, my honest opinion is the DSL is a okay amp if you run it through a Vintage 30 cabinet. It sounds like garbage running through the recommended G12T-75 cab. The TSL is one of my least favorite tube amps... it sucks that bad.

Yeah, Greg (SilentxEarth) from Kid Innocence had the modded TSL

He's talking about these Marshalls.
They switched to H&K halfway through their first tour.

and my those marshalls you mean that marshall. There is only one Marshall and that is the modded TSL I already addressed.

I know on the saosin gear faqs it say they were using a mesa boogie dual rectifier with two channels. but looking at the picture it looks to me that justin is playing the mesa boogie dual rectifier with 3 channels. if you look at the way the switches are laid out you might see what i mean

Well, it says TTN was recorded with a 2 ch dual rec, so when the 3 ch got popular he probably bought one and put all the boss parts from the 2ch dual rec into the 3 ch.
Just a possibility.

remember that that the recto was modded too. It had as ridiculous mod as the TSL so I doubt it hardly sounded like a recto.

yeah, after listening to TTN, like listening to the guitar tones really hard, it does not sound like a recto is in there.

The recto was the rhythm guitar I think. Also it is really hard to tell amps after mixing and mastering. You can't even tell that I am playing a duotone and 6100 in my recent recordings.

yeah, but i mean, unless Beau was god at mixing way back then (which he may have been) that amp sounded nothing like a recto, even at their live performances (e.g. Arlene's) it sounds nothing like a recto.

Pat is a friend of Beau's who recorded TTN's drums. He was the drumtech for Slayer. A guy named Dan played their first handful of shows with them before Alex was around.
