you said that twice, i keep it in mind

yeah well all the better producers(the ones with macs) here use logic as i am concerned so thats why i asked!
I don't know how many plugins are available for logic, but I know protools has a ton of plugins. I personally prefer analog shit, because digital signals sound to sterile to me. In the end protools, logic, nuendo, and cubase all do the same thing via a different package. If your mix is going to be rendered into a 44.1 disk then you really don't need to mix in HD because you are going to lose quality anyways. Pick whichever works best for you and offers what you want. I have plenty of friends that swear by cubase and plenty that swear by logic. I prefer protools. It is all personal preference.
EDIT: I mixed the songs on my band's myspace (www.myspace.com/bransonny) in protools HD. The school studio didn't have any analog units and had a very minimal selection of plugins. They had all the stock protools plugins plus the focusrite, joemeek, and bombfactory shit. Keep in mind that they only had really old KRKs for me to mix on and those particular monitors have a mid-spike voicing.
